Born Roger David in Karachi, Pakistan, in 1979, he came with his family to the United States at age 14. “When I first moved to America, all that the word ‘California’ meant to me was that’s where Michael Jackson’s home is.” Within a year, his mother passed away from cancer. The whole home thing broke up. His already strain relationship with his father deteriorated. Bohemia started high school in San Francisco, but dropped out and ran away around age 16, landing in Sacramento in 1997. He spends half the year in India and half in Northern California.

Roger David aka Bohemia , Known Worldwide as the creator of Punjabi Rap Music Bohemia is a Pakistani American Punjabi Rapper and a music producer from California.
Bohemia also known as pioneer of a new genre of music: Desi-Hip-Hop or Desi-rap.
Bohemia performed Live in Coke Studio (Pakistan season 5) which was Televised Live on 13 May 2012, on 23 Different channels in Pakistan , Hence became first rapper to perform ever in Coke Studio.
Da Rap Star, is nominated as the Best Punjabi Album at the UK Asian music awards.
Bohemia appears in XXL magazine New York.
‘Da Rap Star’, his third album receives 4 nominations at the UK Asian music awards and PTC Punjabi music awards, including ‘Best Punjabi Album’ and ‘Best Music Director’.
Bohemia was ranked 25th on Desiclub.com’s list of the 50 Coolest Desis.

Bohemia was amongst the top 100 most searched Asian artists on YAHOO com.

"Thousand Thoughts" was the most awaited Punjabi Album of the year and third official album of Bohemia who is known world-wide as the creator of Punjabi rap.
He has also lend his voice for super hit Bollywood films like Chandi Chowk to China , 8 x 10 Tasveer , Speedy Singh and Desi Boyz.
Bohemia is the first rapper to have performed Live in Coke Studio (Pakistan season 5).

The most recent was ..The Album Thousand Thoughts was chosen  For Best Non Resident Punjabi Album In PTC Punjabi Music Awards 2013.

Punjabi rappers may come and go, but the ‘pioneer’ will always get his due. So feels Karachi-born and California-bred rapper Bohemia, credited with single-handedly launching the genre of Punjabi rap [hiphop] into mainstream music.

How does Bohemia define rap? “It’s is a medium to introduce one’s culture to the audience, to express oneself, one’s struggle and background,” he offers. “And to be a rapper, one has to grow up in California to understand it. And that is that,” he adds, offering another of his many reasons why the new brigade of ‘desi rappers’ in India aren’t rappers at all.

 “My true fans understand me. And there are many of those. They love me. They display their fondness for me by inking my face on their bodies,” he says proudly. “And Ludhiana has moved me with the love it has showered on me. I feel honoured.”
