Californian authorities are investigating the theft of $300,000, or 80,000 pounds of walnuts from the North of the state. The Tehama County Sheriff's Office were alerted to the theft after a truck load of walnuts failed to show up in Florida as expected.
Police believe that the theft was carried by a serial nut thief who stole another truck load only days earlier in Los Molinos. Those nuts failed to turn up at their intended destination in Texas. Police have reported that the driver who picked up the truck carrying the load was not the person who had been hired to carry out the job.
